Hims & Hers adds Lilly's Zepbound at $299, Foundayo at $149

Lilly's two obesity drugs now sit inside the Hims & Hers platform at Lilly's own self-pay prices. Novo Nordisk's Wegovy has been there since March. Both big branded GLP-1 makers now sell through one cash channel.

Patients who get a prescription on Hims & Hers can now buy Eli Lilly’s Foundayo for $149 a month and Zepbound for $299 a month without leaving the platform. The prices come from the companies’ joint release on Nov. 6, and they match the self-pay prices Lilly offers any patient.

The flow is one visit. A patient completes a consultation, a licensed provider decides whether to prescribe, and the FDA-approved Lilly drug ships to the home. Foundayo (orforglipron) is a daily pill the FDA approved on April 1. Zepbound (tirzepatide) is a weekly injection.

Why it matters: both big branded GLP-1 makers now sell through the same telehealth storefront. Novo Nordisk has sold Wegovy and Ozempic on Hims & Hers since March, Fierce Healthcare reported. Lilly is now the second. Every sale in this channel is cash, outside the patient’s insurance benefit.

What the deal does

Lilly gives Hims & Hers pharmacies direct access to its GLP-1 drugs at self-pay prices, Fierce reported. Before the deal, a Hims & Hers patient who wanted a Lilly drug had to leave the site for LillyDirect, Lilly’s own direct to consumer store.

“Millions of people turn to Hims & Hers for their care, and through this agreement, those patients now have a simple, more direct way to get FDA-approved Lilly medicine at an affordable price if prescribed,” said Ilya Yuffa, president of Lilly USA and Global Customer Capabilities.

The release makes two commitments. Hims & Hers says it has never offered compounded copies of Lilly’s GLP-1s and will not in the future. Both companies say providers on the platform keep independent clinical judgment and prescribe what they decide is right for each patient.

Weight loss members get a care team around the clock, nutrition guidance, regular clinical check ins and a member community, the companies said. The release gave no financial terms and no patient target.

Why Hims needed it

Hims & Hers built its weight loss business on compounded GLP-1s. It has spent 2026 moving to branded drugs. Novo had sued the company over compounded copies before their March deal. Earlier this year Hims & Hers dropped plans for a copy of Novo’s oral pill after pushback from Novo and federal regulators, Fierce reported.

Branded drugs carry thinner margins than compounded ones, Fierce reported. Hims & Hers reported a 64% gross margin in the second quarter, down from 76% a year earlier. Revenue rose 38% to $753.2 million. The company lost $86.3 million, against a $42.5 million profit a year before. Subscribers reached 2.89 million at June 30, up 19%.

Management guided third quarter revenue to $880 million to $900 million. Results come on the Nov. 9 call. Hims & Hers shares rose 8% on Nov. 6 after the Lilly news, Fierce reported.

What plans and employers should watch

A self-pay purchase runs outside the pharmacy benefit. The plan pays nothing, and the fill does not come through as a plan claim. Plans and employers that count GLP-1 use from claims alone will miss members who buy this way.

The prices also set a public reference point. Foundayo at $149 a month and Zepbound at $299 a month are now listed on a platform with 2.89 million subscribers. A member with high cost sharing on a covered GLP-1 can compare that copay with the cash price.

Lilly also keeps its own LillyDirect channel. Benefits leaders now have two cash channels to track, and neither sends the fill back to the plan as a claim.

Our earlier story on Foundayo’s Japan trial covers the pill’s results.
