Your data, plainly.
What we collect, who handles it, and how to reach us. Last updated October 24, 2026.
The short version. We do not sell your data. We do not run ad trackers of our own. You can read the site without an account.
Who we are
Health and Tech Now is a sole proprietorship that does business as Health and Tech Now. It publishes health tech news and sells Data Desk products built from public government files. Questions about this page go to [email protected].
What we collect, and how
Visit counts. We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you. It tells us things like which pages were read and roughly where visitors came from.
The newsletter. The signup box is a Substack form. When you subscribe, Substack collects your email address and shares the subscriber list with us so we can send the newsletter. The Substack box loads Substack's own scripts, and Substack may set its own cookies on pages that show it. Substack's privacy policy covers that.
Purchases. Checkout runs on Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details, and we never see your full card number. We receive what we need to deliver your order: your name, email, billing details, what you bought, and the state and county you enter at checkout. Stripe's privacy policy covers the payment itself.
Booking a call. If you book a call through our Calendly link, Calendly collects your name, email and any answers you give, and shares them with us. Calendly's privacy notice applies there.
The Data Desk form. The form on the Data Desk page does not send anything to our servers. It opens your own email app with your answers filled in. We only get what you choose to send.
Email you send us. If you write to [email protected] or [email protected], we keep your message and address so we can reply and keep records.
Data feed keys. If you buy a plan with a data feed, our server checks your key each time your system asks for a file. We store only a scrambled version of each key, not the key itself.
Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles basic request data such as your IP address and browser type to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
What stays in your browser
Your saved stories, your reading streak and your light or dark setting are stored in your own browser (localStorage). They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not set tracking cookies of our own.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase and tax records as long as the law requires. We keep emails and subscriber details while we have a reason to, and delete them when you ask unless the law says we must keep them.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of any issue. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will answer.
Children
The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we update this page and the date at the top.
